Christ Covenant Church Missions for 2011
Beyond Partnership, Central America Rick and Lee Ann Myers serve as East Coast Representatives, helping to minister in Central America by leading work teams from U.S. churches to help build churches and provide Christian love and support in Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala.
Bridge of Hope BuxMont, Lansdale Ending homelessness, one family and one church at a time - by connecting homeless single-parent families with professional case management and trained mentoring groups from Christian churches in order that the families will be able to achieve permanent housing, financial self-sufficiency and family stability.
Community Breakfast The Brothers-In-Faith (BIF) men's small group spearheads a free hot breakfast for the community on the last Saturday of each month from 8:30-10:00am. We involve multi-generational members of our church (that's everybody who wants to help) to set up, serve and clean up. We minister to those of the community (and our church) who wish to nourish their bodies. We also nourish their souls by having friendly BIF and Christ Covenant Church members serve our guests, sit with them, and introduce them to the many Christian resources available from our Walt Bergey Memorial Christian Resource Center. We then send them away with a snack bag and an introduction pamphlet about our church and invite them to visit and worship with us. Any leftover breakfast food and snack bags are given to others as needs exist (e.g. Shut-ins, Youth group, Little League baseball fans who use our ball field, Highway Clean-up crew, etc.). We have a blast serving our community to the glory of God! Come join us. A volunteer sign-up sheet is available near the mailboxes in Fellowship Hall, however you can still help if you didn't get a chance to sign up.
Community Housing Services, Lansdale This agency serves over 4,200 individuals and provides permanent solutions to housing and related problems faced by the homeless, near homeless, victims of domestic violence and other housing-related issues encountered by low and moderate income people.

In recent years, groups ranging from 4 - 14 persons have worked locally (Montgomery County) and throughout the eastern United States.
Haven of Hope, Philadelphia Our church spent more than 10 years helping to renovate this former crack house into a Biblically-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation ministry for women. Pastor Hector Torres serves as the administrator. The home has been in operation for over five years. Please pray for these impoverished women and for the Board of Directors as they recruit additional volunteers to serve on the Board, gain funding, and offer support to the residents through Christian love and visits, etc.
Keystone Opportunity Center, Souderton A nonprofit social service organization, Keystone Opportunity Center serves communities in the Souderton Area, North Penn and Pennridge school districts. The services include providing transitional housing, financial education, the Inter-Faith Hospitality Network shelter program, English as a second language tutoring, plus food and clothing.
Lamb Foundation, North Wales For 21 years, Lamb has provided safe, affordable and attractive homes for senior citizens and disabled adults in Bucks and Montgomery Counties who would otherwise be homeless. They currently support 200 residents in 58 residences in North Wales and Lansdale. Lamb is privately funded. While receiving no government support, Lamb encourages independence and self-reliance of their clients and works at creating relationships within each home while providing security, meals, laundry and companionship. It strives to improve the mental and physical health of its residents by getting them involved in the community and other activities. Their prayer is for continued financial support as they have a lengthy resident waiting list due to the closing of government subsidized housing and other charitable housing options. Our church collects used clothing for their Sweet Repeats thrift shop.
Manna on Main Street, Lansdale Since 1981 Manna has fed the hungry through their soup kitchen and food cupboard, and provides emergency financial aid for rent, utilities and medical needs. They ask for prayers for the elderly, working poor and disabled and those negatively impacted by economic conditions.
Morning Star Ministries, Souderton This local Christian maternity home provides a positive alternative to abortion by offering a loving home environment for up to 3-4 unwed mothers (age 13-25) during their crisis pregnancies. They minister to the young women by offering physical, emotional and spiritual support. They also work to rebuild family relationships, provide for instruction in basic life skills, diet and nutrition, budgeting, continued education, housing, career options and future goals.
Nehemiah's Way, North Wales Part of Laurel House (Norristown), this agency offers up to two years of low-cost housing to survivors of domestic violence, along with support groups and other services to give them a place to heal, learn how to love, and be loved. They provide subsidized rent, utilities and household needs, property management and insurance. Bob Weisenborn of our church heads up their hands-on projects like painting, routine repairs and moving of donated furniture.
New Life Youth & Family Services, Harleysville New Life is a Christian organization that provides residential, educational and community-based services for troubled youth (ages 11-18) and families.
New Opportunity Fund, Christ Covenant Church This budget item provides our church the opportunity to help organizations that we might like to support, but did not have in the current year's budget.
Stephanie and Francisco Ramos, France Stephane and Francisco are Covenant missionaries in France whom we support through our denominational giving. With a population of 70 million, France is one of the largest countries in Europe. Its rich history has given it an influential role through the centuries in the arts, politics and industry. In partnership with national evangelical churches, Covenant work began in France in 1996 with a focus on church development. Although few French people attend church and most consider it irrelevant for today, there is growing interest in spirituality, faith and God. For this reason they are also working to bridge the gap between the church and general French culture through the arts, discussion groups, and friendship evangelism. They are also developing ministries to marginalized peoples in France through the Mosaics Project.
Shepherd's Shelf, Kulpsville Begun by Christ Lutheran Church, this emergency food pantry also provides financial assistance to residents of the surrounding communities as well as other basic household items. Patrons of Shepherd's Shelf are never questioned about their religion nor are they pressured in any way to become members of Christ Lutheran or any other church.
Youth Missions, Christ Covenant Church The Youth Ministry team plans one or more mission outreach trips each year. The youth pay for these trips themselves or through fundraising efforts. This account was set up to fund the youth leaders who accompany them as well as any additional expenses that are not covered by contributions.
"Our mission is to help all men and women love and serve Jesus Christ through worship, study, training, and hands-on ministry in the community and the world."
