Children

With the goal of nurturing Christian growth, Christ Covenant provides Sunday School classes for ages 2 through adult.  Sunday School classes meet each Sunday for one hour from 9 am to 10 am.

Children ages 2 through 6th grade meet downstairs for a variety of activities.  They begin each morning with Kidz Choir where they practice music that is then presented to the congregation every four to six weeks and at various special occasions.  After music they go to their classrooms to hear Bible stories, the familiar and new, to strengthen their belief in God’s word and to learn how to put their trust in Him.

Their Christian growth continues to be nurtured with our two year confirmation class for teens in grades seven and eight and a senior high class for grades nine through twelve. We also strive to develop in our children an understanding of their responsibility for the world. To do this we have various mission projects throughout the Sunday School year.  Some of these projects include making cards and favors for our church’s Thanksgiving and Easter baskets, making Christmas gifts for the staff, sending cards to shut-ins, Operation Christmas Child, Heifer and Covenant Kids missions.  We often combine classes for these projects and have been known to invite the adults to join in our fun!

After Sunday School has ended for the day, we offer separate rooms (nursery and kid’s time) for infants through grade one. Infants through age two have a safe and welcoming room where they can hear a story, play with age appropriate toys or be free to crawl around. Children age three to 1st grade can also hear stories, do crafts or just have some play time with a variety of our preschool’s toys. Both rooms are staffed by super, caring volunteers. 

Finally, all children from ages four through 6th grade, whether church members or from our community, are welcome each June to attend our outstanding evening Vacation Bible School (VBS) program. This outreach to our community includes Bible stories, skits, games, crafts, tasty snacks and our ever-popular daily finale where they sing songs they have learned throughout the week that they will be singing for months to come!
